I have navigated many different seasons in my life where I have felt stuck for whatever reason. And being and feeling stuck is just an absolute miserable feeling.
In my last blog, I talked about how a lot of people feel like they're unhappy and what to do about it. And, I'm gonna talk a little about being stuck today.
Honestly, I think those two things are very, very similar. A lot of people are unhappy because they're stuck, and there's a lot of people that are stuck because they're unhappy. Those things just kind of tend to go hand in hand.
I think it's great to have a destination. I think it's great to have a goal that you're setting in life. Sometimes I think it's okay to just enjoy the journey. Sometimes I think it's okay to look up and say, you know what? I'm lost right now.
Here's what I know. Sometimes it's not about the place that you're heading, sometimes it's not about the destination that you're trying to get to. Sometimes it's just about enjoying the journey.
Here's the reason why it is that people are stuck. The reason why people feel stuck is because of overthinking.
I've spent too many years being frantic. Overthinking.
Picture yourself in the middle of a forest and there's no sun out. You can't tell which way east is, which way west is. There's no north star. You don't have a clue where you are. This is woods you've never been in before. You are deep in the heart of it. You don't know where you're going and you find yourself stuck. And the problem that I think a lot of people have is we sit there and we overanalyze and make ourselves incredibly freaked out about the fact that we are stuck.
And the more we think about it, the more stuck we feel and the more overwhelmed we feel. And pretty soon we are setting up camp right there in that place and trying to analyze what the best solution is. When honestly, sometimes you just gotta make a decision and go for it fully, knowing that it may lead to a roadblock, it may lead to a detour. That is what life is. Life is a series of detours. There are dips and there are turns and there are mistakes and there are things that you navigate in order to reach the ultimate goal that we have.
And the reason that we find ourselves, stuck more often than not is we obsess about the things that we do not have control over, which impacts the things that we do have control over, right?
So my role in, in your life is not to tell you what your destination should be. It's to walk alongside you in whatever season that you're in, in whatever direction that you're walking in, and to help you move forward in whatever forward is for you. Even if that destination leads you to bad choices. If it leads you to adventure, if it leads you to some ups and downs, great. Sometimes it's nice to know that you've got some people in your life and in your corner that will be willing to, in a judgment free way, walk alongside you in whatever it is that you need to go through.
All I know is that the right destination for you is not just staying stuck. It's not just the life of being a bob or tossed in the wind, just waiting for life to come along and carry you wherever it whims or wherever it may.
You reserve the right as a human being to change course. Anytime you want to move in a different direction. It's my job to make sure that you're not alone in whatever that destination is.
